Am I affected by the capital-gains tax?
The 2026 regime does not reach everyone the same way, and most of what circulates about it mixes up three different taxes. Answer five questions and this page says what the rules make of your situation and which tool to open next. Nothing is computed here — the figures are on the simulators, with their reasoning.
What that means

Frequently asked questions
- Who is this questionnaire for?
- Anyone who holds — or is thinking of holding — shares, ETFs or funds as a private individual resident in Belgium. It covers neither companies nor professional regimes.
- Why are no amounts shown?
- Because five multiple-choice answers are not enough to compute a tax. Pricing it needs dates, prices and the year's history; that is the simulators' job, and they also show how they got there.
- Do I need an account?
- No. No account, no email address, no file to upload.
- Are my answers recorded?
- No. The questionnaire runs entirely in your browser: no answer is sent to a server, and nothing outlives the page.

- You are on the opt-out side of the capital-gains tax: what lands on you
Under opt-out nobody withholds the 10% for you. Three jobs move from your broker to you — and one of them cannot be finished yet, because the declaration codes have not been published.
